Bookkeeper360
US bookkeepers close QuickBooks Online or Xero. Monthly or weekly reports, plus payroll, tax, and a client app. Onboarding is extra.
Best for
US small businesses that want humans on QuickBooks Online or Xero, with published monthly or weekly prices and payroll or tax from the same shop.
Not ideal if
Anyone who wants to keep the books themselves, must stay on Wave or FreshBooks, or will not stay in the loop when the bookkeeper goes quiet. Also a poor fit if you need a licensed CPA firm: the subscription agreement says Bookkeeper360 is not one.
Standout
Published monthly ($399) and weekly ($599) service prices on QuickBooks Online or Xero, plus a client app and payroll, tax, and CFO add-ons in the same shop.
About Bookkeeper360
Bookkeeper360 is a US bookkeeping service on QuickBooks Online or Xero. You connect banks, processors, payroll, and spend tools. A dedicated US accountant categorizes, reconciles, and closes. Monthly plans deliver a P&L and balance sheet. Weekly adds more frequent reports. You review in their web or mobile app and message the team.
It does not replace QuickBooks Online or Xero. The file lives there. Kick is the opposite: Kick is the ledger and you do the weekly review. Bench keeps books in Bench's software. Pilot also sits on QuickBooks Online and sells tax and CFO, but it does not keep a live Xero file. Bookkeeper360's extra is published monthly or weekly service prices on either ledger, plus payroll, sales tax, and a client dashboard in the same shop.
People who stick want someone else on the close and a QuickBooks or Xero file a CPA already knows. They stay for the app (cash runway, P&L, chat) and the option to add tax or a fractional CFO without switching firms. They leave when they have to chase the bookkeeper, or when payroll, sales tax, and onboarding push the bill past a local firm.
What people who used it say
What they tend to like
Books handled without a weekly DIY review
A Trustpilot owner cited quarterly reviews and tax documents ready in January. App Store reviews praise the dashboard and being able to reach the team.
One shop for books, tax, and a phone app
Owners who stay talk about the app (KPIs, chat) next to a US team that also files tax, not about DIY categorization.
Works when the assigned accountant is engaged
Positive comments name a specific advisor and a regular review cadence. The service is a person, not a feed you ignore.
What they hesitate about
You chase the bookkeeper
Trustpilot and BBB owners describe months with little work, staff changes, and having to follow up to get reconciliations, tax forms, or a simple answer.
The quote and the invoice diverge
Owners describe a QBO-to-Xero project quoted around $2,000 and billed at $5,000, retainers that were slow to start, and extra 1099 or meeting charges. One Trustpilot review called the contract presentation misleading even while calling the accounting work decent.
Filings and tax guidance slip
One owner reported a late state sales-tax filing and a $1,100 penalty. Others said tax questions were passed around, a return stayed in draft, or 1099s were billed when a corporation did not need them.

They close in QuickBooks Online or Xero. Monthly is a P&L and balance sheet plus a review. Weekly adds weekly insights. You still upload docs and answer questions. You must review payroll, income-tax, sales-tax, and bill-pay output within 3 business days or the agreement treats it as accepted.
The live file stays in QuickBooks Online or Xero, so you can invite another CPA or buy their tax add-on. There is no named year-end Excel package on the public pages. The company is not a CPA firm; tax is an add-on staffed by CPAs and tax experts.

Features
Monthly or weekly close on QuickBooks Online or Xero
A dedicated US accountant categorizes, reconciles, and closes in QuickBooks Online or Xero. Monthly (from $399) includes a P&L and balance sheet, cash or accrual. Weekly (from $599) adds weekly insights. You answer questions and upload the docs only you have.
Onboarding, cleanup, and catch-up
New clients start with onboarding from $1,000 per project: chart of accounts, Xero or QuickBooks Online setup, uncategorized cleanup, and app connections (A2X, Shopify, Stripe, PayPal, Bill.com, Gusto, Ramp, Brex). Bookkeeping FAQ: getting started is typically 1–2 weeks. Catch-up for months or years behind is quoted in that project.
Client app, KPIs, and chat
Every plan includes Bookkeeper360 software: a live KPI dashboard, file manager, and messaging. The iOS and Android app shows revenue, gross profit, cash burn, and runway, and lets you reach the team. App Store: dashboards can be explored without a card; an active subscription or trial is required to use the service.
Tax add-on (not in the bookkeeping fee)
Business Tax starts at $1,000/year (federal and state, franchise tax, C-corp, S-corp, partnership, or single-member LLC). Business and personal together start at $1,500/year. Year-end planning starts at $1,200/year. R&D credits and sales tax are separate. Subscription agreement: Bookkeeper360 is not a certified public accounting firm.
Payroll through Gusto, plus filings
Pricing page: payroll administration from $200/month (Gusto setup, registrations, W-2s, 1099s, bonus runs, onboarding and offboarding). The payroll FAQ still says solutions from $45/month; treat $200 as the current public floor. Payroll analytics in the app need payroll connected to the books.
Pay-as-you-go hours, or a fractional CFO
A separate landing page sells pay-as-you-go: $1,000 setup (8 hours included), then $49/month plus $125/hour, cancel anytime. It is not on the main pricing table this pass. Fractional CFO starts at $2,000/month. Back-office AR/AP starts at $150/month; sales tax filings start at $125/month.
Pricing
A typical 5-person shop pays from $399/month for Monthly, plus about $1,000 onboarding, plus the QuickBooks Online or Xero subscription. Add payroll from $200/month on the pricing page, sales tax from $125/month, and Business Tax from $1,000/year, and a shop with staff and nexus is often $700–$1,000+ a month before CFO. Weekly is $599. Pay-as-you-go is $49 plus $125/hour after a $1,000 setup. First month and setup are due up front. Annual retainers are non-refundable. The agreement can add a 15% early-termination fee.
