Synder

Sync Stripe, PayPal, Shopify, Amazon, and Square into QuickBooks Online or Xero as line items or a daily/payout summary.

Best for

Shops that keep QuickBooks Online or Xero and need Stripe, PayPal, Square, or store sales posted as line items or a daily/payout summary so the bank deposit ties out.

Not ideal if

Anyone who needs Synder to replace the ledger, or a shop that only wants cheap payout journals and does not take processor-heavy sales.

Standout

Named Stripe, PayPal, and Square connectors plus stores into QuickBooks Online or Xero, with a real Summary vs Per Transaction choice and a documented Desktop path.

About Synder

Synder is not the ledger. You connect Stripe, PayPal, Square, Shopify, Amazon, and other processors or stores. It posts sales, fees, refunds, and tax into QuickBooks Online or Xero as each sale (Per Transaction) or as a daily or payout summary. Payouts hit a clearing account so the bank deposit can match. You still close in those files. Disconnect native QuickBooks connectors first or you will double-post.

It sits next to QuickBooks or Xero, the opposite of Kick (a replacement ledger). A2X is the closer pick if you only want closed settlement journals. ConnectBooks is marketplace-first with SKU profit and a Desktop settlement path. Webgility is the heavier order-plus-inventory suite. Stripe stays the processor; Synder is the post-into-the-books layer.

People who stick usually take cards on Stripe or PayPal (or mix a store with a processor) and want fees, tax, and the payout to tie out without a monthly journal. Bookkeepers pick it when a client already has QuickBooks Online or Xero and the native connector dumps a receipt per ticket.

What people who used it say

What they tend to like

  • Payouts that match the bank deposit

Owners and bookkeepers want fees, refunds, and tax posted so the Stripe or Square deposit ties out, not a net lump.

  • One app instead of native connectors

They turn off Shopify, PayPal, Amazon, or eBay apps in QuickBooks and let Synder be the only writer.

  • Line-level or summary, your choice

Per Transaction for invoice and customer detail; daily or payout summary when volume would blow up the register.

What they hesitate about

  • Price climbs with transaction count

A Square shop on r/Bookkeeping cited about $133/mo at roughly 3,000 transactions. Essential and Pro are 'from' prices.

  • Duplicates if native connectors stay on

Synder and Intuit's Shopify/PayPal/Amazon apps will both write. Disconnect the natives and clean in-flight lines first.

  • Odd UI and a slow support lane on cheap plans

A bookkeeper on r/Bookkeeping called the UI odd with config gaps. Pricing help says Basic/Essential investigations may wait more than 2 weeks.

Pick Summary or Per Transaction when you create the organization. Map accounts and products. Sync to a clearing account, then match the payout to the bank deposit. Turn off native QuickBooks connectors first. Review Synder flags before you lock the period.

The CPA works in the QuickBooks or Xero file. Share that file, or add them as a Synder user (1 seat on Basic and Essential; extra seats cost). Each client company is a separate billed organization. Synder does not e-file 1099s or the return.

Features

Summary or per-transaction sync

Per Transaction posts each sale, fee, refund, and tax as its own record. Summary Sync rolls a day or a payout into one journal. You pick the mode when you create the organization. Switching later needs a new organization. A summary still spends one sync credit per sale inside the rollup.

Stripe, PayPal, Square, and store connectors

Connect processors and stores, then map sales, Connect fees, refunds, chargebacks, and tax. Amazon summaries can arrive late; help says to delay them a day. Clover, Walmart, TikTok, BigCommerce, and the Synder API are premium integrations (Pro and above).

Clearing account and payout match

Sales post to a clearing account. The payout then moves clearing to the bank so the deposit can match. In Xero, the bank-feed side of that transfer can rec; the clearing side stays Unreconciled until you confirm it. Review flags in Synder before you close.

QuickBooks Online, Desktop, and Xero

Online and Xero connect from the Intuit Apps tab or the Xero App Marketplace (admin). Desktop is Per Transaction only and has a separate $349.99/mo card ($279.99/mo yearly) on the Desktop page. Each QuickBooks or Xero company is its own billed organization.

Rules, tax, and invoice match

Map products by name or SKU. Smart Rules assign accounts, classes, locations, or Xero Tracking Categories (Per Transaction). Stripe marketplace-facilitator tax posts as a non-taxable line. Open Stripe or Shopify invoices can match and close on Essential and above. Smart Rules are a paid add-on on Basic and Essential.

RevRec for Stripe subscriptions (Pro and above)

Synder RevRec builds ASC 606 schedules from Stripe or an Excel upload and recognizes deferred revenue monthly. Pricing lists it free up to 1,000 active subscriptions on Pro, 2,000 on Pro Max, and 5,000 on Premium. Not on Basic or Essential.

Pricing

Published floors on 12 Sep 2026: Basic $65/mo ($52/mo yearly) for 500 syncs and 2 slots. Essential from $129/mo, Pro from $299/mo, Pro Max from $599/mo; those three say the bill follows monthly sync volume. A 5-person / ~500-txn shop on Stripe plus one store can stay on Basic if it stays under 2 slots. A third channel or COGS pushes Essential. Unused monthly syncs expire. Desktop has a separate $349.99/mo card ($279.99/mo yearly). Each QuickBooks or Xero company is its own billed organization. Historic packs of 500 exist; the dollar rate is unpublished. Accountant discounts start at 3 clients.
