Jirav
Connect QuickBooks Online or Xero, then build a 3-statement budget, forecast, and budget-vs-actual package. The books stay in the ledger.
Best for
A growing shop (or the CAS firm behind it) that already closes QuickBooks Online or Xero and wants a rolling 3-statement plan, not another spreadsheet.
Not ideal if
A 1–50 person DIY owner who only needs invoices, bank rec, and a P&L. Jirav does not replace the ledger, and a $10,000/year business Starter is the wrong spend for that job.
Standout
One-way trial-balance import from QuickBooks Online or Xero into a driver-based 3-statement model, with a cheaper wholesale path for firms.
About Jirav
Jirav is FP&A software, not a ledger. You connect QuickBooks Online, Xero, QuickBooks Desktop, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct. Jirav imports the chart of accounts and monthly trial balances one way. QuickBooks Online refreshes the current and prior month every night. You then build a driver-based income statement, balance sheet, and cash-flow forecast, plus a staffing plan from Gusto or another workforce feed. Nothing posts back. You still close and lock the period in the books.
That is the opposite of Kick, which replaces the file. Fathom is the reporting and consolidation companion on QuickBooks Online or Xero, with published prices from $65 a month. Float is a cash-flow forecast next to Xero or QuickBooks from £40 a month. Jirav is the heavier planning layer: departmental budgets, named scenarios, and a headcount model. Accounting firms buy wholesale (Controller Essentials from $50 a month per client account) so they can sell a monthly FP&A package instead of a stale spreadsheet.
People who stick already close the books and want a rolling 3-statement plan that department heads can edit. Finance leads at 45–65 person QuickBooks Online shops on public forums cite a working QuickBooks sync and a usable budget build. They also say report layouts are templated and the board deck still leaves in slides. Getting the first model live is weeks of setup, not an afternoon.
What people who used it say
What they tend to like
QuickBooks sync and the budget build work
Finance leads at ~45–65 person QBO shops call the integration reliable and the budgeting usable once the model is up.
Better than living in a spreadsheet
At ~40–50 people, people name Jirav as the step up from 40 hours a month of Excel gathering, even if it is not perfect.
Planning depth over pretty reports
On r/QuickBooks, the split is Fathom for reporting quality and Jirav for planning depth.
What they hesitate about
Reports are templated; the board deck still leaves
Users call reporting rigid or templated and say custom board decks still end up in slides.
Implementation is weeks
A 50-person QBO shop said about 3 weeks to running. Another QBO thread said about a month to get the model set up.
No native HubSpot (and similar ops tools)
One Jirav user said there is no native HubSpot connection. Official integrations send Salesforce, HubSpot, Stripe, and Shopify through third parties such as Coefficient.

Close and lock the period in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or the ERP. Jirav imports the trial balance (QBO: current and prior month overnight) so you can refresh budget vs actual and roll the forecast. It does not reconcile banks or post journals.
Invite the accountant, or have the firm run Jirav from Partner Portal and send read-only dashboards and report packages. This is an FP&A pack, not a year-end tax package. The CPA still needs the ledger file for the return.

Features
Import actuals from the ledger
Connect one accounting system. Jirav pulls the chart of accounts and monthly trial balances. QuickBooks Online and Xero support cash or accrual. The feed is one way and does not write journals back. QBO refreshes the current and prior month overnight. You can reimport a historical period yourself.
Build a 3-statement forecast
Start from last year's numbers or from drivers. Jirav updates the income statement, balance sheet, and cash-flow statement together. Starter caps the model at 24 months of data (actuals start to forecast end). Professional is 48 months. Enterprise is 84 months.
Plan headcount from the payroll roster
Import the live employee list from Gusto, Paychex Flex, UKG Ready, BambooHR, Paylocity, Justworks, ADP RUN, or TriNet, or upload Excel. Jirav uses name, department, hire date, and annual wages to forecast salary, raises, and new hires. Payroll tax and benefits are assumptions you set, not a filed payroll run.
Share budget vs actual packages
Build dashboards and report packages from templates or custom KPIs, then share read-only links. Starter includes 3 dashboards and 3 report packages. Professional and Enterprise raise those caps. Unlimited read-only sharing is on every published business plan.
Department budgets and named scenarios
Starter plans at company level with 2 active plans. Professional adds 5 departments and 3 active plans. Enterprise is 15 departments and 5 active plans. Department heads edit their slice; it rolls into the company budget.
Firm partner portal (wholesale)
Accounting and CFO firms provision client accounts from Partner Portal, white-label reports, and add unlimited firm-domain users. Controller Essentials starts at $50/month per client account. CFO Enterprise starts at $150/month. Volume discounts sit behind a demo.
Pricing
A shop buying direct pays $10,000 a year for Starter (2 editors, company-level, 24-month model) or $15,000 for Professional (5 editors, 5 departments, 48 months). Enterprise has no public dollar. A 5-person service shop with no finance hire should not be on this bill. The same shop can sit on a firm's Controller Essentials account from $50/month wholesale; what the firm charges the client is unpublished. Navigator (a Jirav specialist who rolls the forecast) is another $6,000, $9,000, or $12,000 a year on top. Forum users describe 3–4 weeks to get the first model live.

Pick something else instead of Jirav
Fathom
Pick Fathom instead if you want management reports, commentary, and consolidations on QuickBooks Online or Xero and you do not need a driver-based staffing model. Fathom's published Starter is $65/month.
Float
Pick Float instead if the only gap is a visual cash-flow forecast next to Xero or QuickBooks. Live directory slug is float-2. Published Early is £40/month, not a $10,000/year planning suite.
QuickBooks Online
Stay in QuickBooks Online if native reports and a spreadsheet forecast are enough. Jirav sits next to the file; it does not close the books or replace QBO.
